Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran, they settled there.
Terah wanted to go to Canaan, but he stopped when he reached the city of Haran, and then Abram went on to Canaan. Moses wasn't allowed to enter the Promised Land, but Joshua led the Israelites in. David, a man of God's heart, couldn't build the temple, but his son Solomon was given that task.
Sometimes, God's plan comes in pieces, and we might not see the conclusion of what he has in store. But we are still a vital part of the overall picture, and we must keep serving faithfully, even if we don't see the final outcome in our lifetime.
What does God have for you to do today to serve him? Are you willing to do it, even if you don't see a benefit right away?
